Top 10 Waterfalls Near Kathmandu Valley

Aug 16 2024

As the monsoon season in Nepal is at its peak, people are searching for the best waterfalls near Kathmandu to spend their weekends and enjoy the fresh water. And there’s no doubt that one of the best ways to escape the bustle of Kathmandu is to visit the beautiful waterfalls around the city.

What is the Best Season to See Waterfalls Near Kathmandu Valley?

You can visit these top 10 waterfalls near Kathmandu any time of the year, but the monsoon season (June to August) is when they are most beautiful, with heavy rainfall creating strong, gushing water flows. However, if the route involves hiking, be cautious of slippery trails, landslides, and leeches.

Post-monsoon (autumn) from September to November is another excellent time to visit, offering vibrant scenery without the hazards of the monsoon. Winter (December to February) sees fewer crowds, though the waterfalls may have reduced flow. Spring (March to May) provides a stunning backdrop of blooming flowers and lush vegetation.

In just a few hours’ drive, you can see some of the most gorgeous waterfalls in the Kathmandu Valley. We have a list of the best 10 waterfalls around Kathmandu that are perfect for a quick retreat into nature.
